This is a piece to remember the bear BB12, which was the first bear to return to the Santa Monica Mountains in 20 years. He unfortunately was taken too soon, struck by a vehical at the top of the 101 grade. I was born and raised at Satwiwa, a join Chumash/Tongva/Gabrieleno site in Newbury Park, CA. The same area where this bear returned to.
