This is a 8 x 10" glicee print of the original drawing of Mokoko. And then I thought it'd make sense for her to have a "tā moko", a chin tattoo. Tā moko is a traditional Maori tattoo. While chin and other facial tattoo are traditional for many tribes up and down so called California, it was a practise that almost dissapeared. With the help of Maori and other pacific island artists, the revitalization of facial tattooing on Indigenous women in CA has made a resurgence. And it is a beautiful thing.
So here's a lil bit of joy for you.. The original is gouche and ink, reprinted here as a glicee print on heavy art stock paper. Each print will be signed.
